When the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica about the return of Jesus in 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18, he didn’t bring up that particular teaching just because he thought it was a good topic for them to brush up on—he brought it up because belief in the return of Jesus is a profound comfort to us when we are facing loss and grief.
